It is with great pleasure and pride that we are able to announce that All Sports All People has been awarded a Grow Grant from the Trillium Foundation for $656,200 over 36 months. This will help us to expand our inclusive recreation programs for people living with disabilities in Simcoe County and neighbouring communities. Fostering more active lifestyles, this initiative is helping Ontarian’s participate in an active lifestyle, and has an impact on the lives of 2,000 people in the community. This grant comes as an extension to our original grant 4 years ago that allowed Vice President, Wade Beebe’s dream of ASAP to become a reality. Wade and program developer, Brad Bowden, have worked tirelessly over the last 4 years to bring sledge hockey, wheelchair basketball, adaptive cycling programs (to name a few) to the community of Simcoe County. They have worked with municipalities, schools and also with Georgian college to become the premiere provider of inclusive sporting opportunities to people of all ages.
We also would like to welcome Paralympian, Tyler McGregor, and our very own Executive Board member and JSD Coach, Chantelle Maurice, aboard the ASAP staff, as we forge ahead into creating and providing more opportunities for persons with disabilities to participate in sport and lead active and healthy lifestyles.
